It has been possible to study Physics and Mathematics at the University of Ljubljana since it was founded in 1919. The Faculty of Mathematics and Physics in its current structure was formed in 1995. Today, the Faculty has 1100 undergraduate students, 80 postgraduate students, 19 lecture rooms, 5 computer classrooms, 3 computer laboratories for individual use, 5 teaching laboratories, 2 research laboratories and 5 libraries. Each year, a programming competition for students is held and Halcom awards are given for the best student research projects.
