Unique Taiba Engineering Academy
destini was incorporated on 26th august, 1976 as a private limited company, with current authorised and paid up capital of rm 10 million and rm 9,310,000. 00 respectively.
destini is a subsidiary of gold bridge engineering & construction berhad (gbe), which is listed on the main board of kuala lumpur stock exchange. Gbe holds 70% shares in destini via its 100% subsidiary company interceptor engineering sdn bhd. The principal business activities of destini are as follows :-
a) boat/ship repairs
b) boat/ship building
c) boat/ship maintenance
destini since its incorporation has successfully built and delivered, for various clients, more than 230 boats worth more than rm 250 million employing various materials and manufacturing methods, of different sizes and performance capabilities. However, the majority of the boats produced by destini are of composite and grp design.
since mid 2005, destini had ventured into the production and manufacturing of aluminium boats and had secured two contract namely one unit 13. 2 m hydrographic survey boat from port klang authority and 2 units 17 m fast assault craft from malaysian maritime enforcement agency (malaysian coast guard).
destini success came in 1994, after the successful delivery of 20 units of 9. 65-meter high-speed interceptor (hsi) crafts to royal custom of malaysia (custom). This boat was wholly designed and built by destini for the high speed maneuverability and interception requirements of custom, specifically for policing anti-smuggling operations. As a result of the boat?s performance, capabilities, speed (up to 65 knots) and design quality, destini subsequently received good review from an international maritime magazine and therefore destini was able to secure further contracts by various parties.
in addition, destini was one of the malaysian pioneers in the manufacturing of boats using more exotic composite materials when it built and delivered 12 units of bullet-proof high speed craft (hspc) for special operations of the marine police (pdrm) in 1986.
in 1998, destini built and exported 4 units of an upgraded version of the 9. 65-meter hsi to the royal brunei police (rbp).
successfully completing a 20 unit, 13. 0 meter patrol boat contract with marine department in 2000, destini is now applying the technology and know how of its high performance designs in order to capture the niche of the potentially high growth boat market in south east asia, india and middle east.
