The Unicef Student Team Delft is an official organisation, founded in 2018. The team consists of volunteers and committee members which are managed by the student board.
Throughout the year we organize various events focussed on fundraising and creating social awareness among students from the TU Delft.
UNICEF's innovative Climate Smart Eco-Villages project aims to reduce the impact of climate change on children by making 20 vulnerable villages in southern Madagascar more resilient and sustainable. We want to do this by providing villages with sustainable electricity, water supplies and internet. This will improve children's access to (distance) education and healthcare, among other things. The villages will also receive ecological toilets to prevent public defecation and diseases. Local businesses in the villages will receive training in the maintenance of the toilets and a small subsidy to stimulate the local economy. Finally, we want to increase knowledge in the villages about climate change. Amongst others, by letting children in schools think along about solutions.
Together with the other 14 student teams in the Netherlands we raise money for this project.
