I started Unbiased America as an alternative to discussion forums in which everyone was from the same ideology and nobody was interested in learning new facts or solving problems. People just don't seem to care about the truth anymore. It's part of a bigger trend, and a very dangerous phenomenon for the country. We're no longer discussing issues.
We're not seeking solutions. We are simply dictating, preaching to the choir, in rooms full of supporters. We attack straw men, slap each other on the back, and go to sleep happy, confident that we are right... but we never hear the other side of the argument. So instead of hate, bias, and political spin that masquerades as discussion, I wanted to see if it was possible to put together a group of people from all ideologies to discuss issues without the usual vitriol, name-calling, and rhetoric.
Unbiased America began as an experiment to see if people could engage those of opposing beliefs in constructive conversation. My ultimate goal is to look at every issue objectively and make judgements without regard for ideology. Only by keeping truth as the ultimate standard for our beliefs can we escape the quagmire of ideological segregation.
