Ustamdan

Ustamdan.com is an e-commerce website which emphasizes to accord the the hidden stories of Anatolian craftsmen immortal and deliver the special handicrafts, with stories of these craftsmen, to the society. Gökçe Gülcüler and Müge Ulusoy, who are the founder-member of Ustamdan.com, took the initiative of the project through going to ‘Pistachio Harvest Festival’ with Atlas Journal and they met with an Usta, producing traditional leather shoes, at that trip in the year of 2013. Ustamdan, is created with a passion of discovering the Anatolia with every inch of its features and improved by revealing the hidden stories of Anatolian craftsmen. Ustamdan aims to reinvigorate the local economy and keep in the handicraft work of art existance by gathering the most precious craftsmen, devoted to their profession. Right along with commercing local handicrafts, Ustamdan is an interactive platform which tells the stories of craftsmen and provides a collaboration among them. Ustamdan also creates a fund called ‘Apprentice Training’ for the aim to sustain the Anatolian handicraft work of art.
