Daring. Caring. Sharing.
URSA serves people of all abilities.
URSA, a non-profit charitable organization, has provided services to seniors, adults and children with developmental disabilities and brain injury survivors since 1985. URSA has a variety of programs ranging from 10 hours a week in-home support, to 24-hour staffed residences, and a variety of day programs. URSA has numerous locations all across the City and we provide services to hundreds of individuals. Many of the individuals in service with URSA have very significant and multiple disabilities and require partial to total assistance with all aspects of daily living such as: feeding, personal care support for bathing and hygiene, and 24-hour staff support for all areas of life.
DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITY SERVICES
URSA provides 24 hour service to individuals living with developmental disabilities. Programs focus on assisting
individuals with meeting their personal goals, in both residential and community settings. URSA also has an adult respite space.
BRAIN INJURY SERVICES
Brain injury survivors are supported in a community based setting which promotes independence. Our community
access programs focus on community participation to maintain their physical stamina as well as preventing social isolation.
ABORIGINAL SERVICES
Kootenay Lodge is a vital supported housing program serving the most vulnerable and at-risk aboriginal people. Kootenay Lodge provides supported and specialized housing for homeless aboriginal adults who live with disabilities.
CHILDREN’S SERVICES
Residential and respite services are offered for children. Children staying with us enjoy consistency in their school programs and participation in recreation and leisure programs.
