Unite Here! Local 40

UNITE HERE Local 40 is BC’s union for hotel and hospitality workers. Local 40 represents workers in hotels, airport concessions, and food service throughout the province. From Prince George to Vancouver, Victoria to Campbell River, we’re building a fighting union in BC to raise standards in our industries and demand respect on the job. Local 40 is part of the UNITE HERE International Union which represents workers throughout Canada and the U.S. working in the hospitality, gaming, food service, and airport industries. UNITE HERE boasts a diverse membership, comprising workers from many immigrant communities. The majority of UNITE HERE members are women. Through organizing, UNITE HERE members have made hotel housekeeping jobs in cities across North America, and hundreds of thousands of other traditionally low-wage jobs into good, family-sustaining, middle class jobs.
