UNIQ YOU is a not-for-profit organisation led by CEO Val Ridley and governed by Chair Matt Lee and Non-Executive Directors, UNIQ You Founder Tanya Meessmann and Kristen Podagiel. It is committed to increasing the percentage of girls considering and pursuing pathways into industries currently under-represented by women, while building a more robust understanding of these sectors and roles within the education sector.
By imploding stereotypes, challenging conventions and rejecting constructed gender norms, we seek to recalibrate society’s expectations of what girls are capable of and curious about.
Harnessing technology, we do this through the facilitation of conversations between high school girls and women working in ‘non-traditional’ roles and industries. These conversations empower girls to make confident career choices - regardless of industry, role or skill set - today, tomorrow and beyond.
