A student run STEM organization on the UMass Amherst campus that focuses on the development of high powered rockets to compete in the annual NASA SLI. The team engages in designing, prototyping, manufacturing, and assembly of high powered rockets. Every year, the team writes 3 large technical documents about the development process, the manufacturing process, and the test launches of our Full-Scale and Sub-Scale models. Each of these are reviewed and critiqued by NASA Engineers throughout a series of video conferences with members of each sub-team.
The team participates in test launches, as well as the NASA SLI competition in Huntsville, AL. The team competes against 20 to 45 other NASA selected, University level Rocket Teams, where the universities compete and earn awards for the successful completion of a variety of different rocketry related objectives.
