Heavener’s Business Ethics Ambassadors engage in a series of experiential learning opportunities in order to develop ethical decision making and leadership skills, including creating and implementing programs that meaningfully integrate ethics into the Heavener experience.
Activities that the Ambassadors participate in include:
- The Introduction to Business Ethics Case Competition: First year and transfer business students who take Introduction to Business Class (GEB2015) have the opportunity to compete in this competition hosted by the Business Ethics Ambassadors. Ambassadors mentor and educate students on the importance of ethics. These students then compete in a case competition judged by local business leaders and have the opportunity to win a monetary prize.
- The Alumni Speaker Series: Business Ethics Ambassadors have the opportunity to learn about ethical decision making from distinguished alumni. Ambassadors are able to interact and understand the challenges that everyday business leaders go through. Past speakers include such notable alumni as Alex Smith (BSBA ’81), Bill Alcorn (BSBA ’71), Ron Wheeler (BSBA ’87) and Steve Weiss (BSBA ’87).
- Rotary Club Ethics in Business Award: Business Ethics Ambassadors get the opportunity to interview local small business leaders and learn how they deal with everyday ethical dilemmas. Ambassadors then create a report in which one business is chosen for the award.
