The Health, Equity, Action, and Leadership (HEAL) Initiative trains and transforms front-line health professionals by building a community dedicated to serving under-served communities as their lifelong choice.
At HEAL, we believe health is achievable for even the most vulnerable populations in our world when we apply principles of equity, justice, and solidarity. We believe that people coming together can transform systems. Through the process, we also continue to be transformed.
We currently have several programs empowering healthcare professionals to serve resource-denied communities around the world.
1. Global HEAL Program: Filling physician vacancies and empowering local health workers to HEAL resource-denied communities around the world.
2. Mexico Leadership Program: Providing HEAL’s transformational program in Spanish to nurses in rural Mexico.
3. Southwest Leadership Program: Empowering Indigenous nurse leaders to HEAL Navajo Nation.
4. California HEAL Program: Filling physician vacancies and empowering local health workers to address the needs of resource-denied communities across the state.
5. We plan to extend leadership programs in East Africa and India in the coming years.
