UBC Orbit is a student team dedicated to the design and development of a category of satellites called CubeSats. We are based at University of British Columbia Vancouver Campus. Our team consists of over 50 undergraduate and graduate students from various disciplines, including engineering, science, arts, and business. Our primary goals are to create practical and cost-effective satellites while offering our members valuable opportunities to develop skills that will benefit them in their future careers in the industry.
Over the next few years, our aim is to build, test, and launch ALEASAT, a satellite capable of capturing real-time images of Earth and transmitting them instantly to any radio operator, particularly for use in disaster relief efforts. Additionally, we seek to foster greater interest in space exploration and openly share our findings to contribute to the broader knowledge base.
