Upper Austrian Research GmbH (UAR) is the leading company for research of the federal province of Upper Austria and a key player in research, technology and innovation (FTI) policy. UAR plays a central role in defining a research strategy for Upper Austria that is geared to the future, further increasing excellence in the strategic research fields in Upper Austria and continually developing the province’s research structures. The companies in which UAR holds shares employ approximately 85 percent of all those working in non-university research in Upper Austria. Every year, approximately 1.400 research projects are carried out in cooperation with 850 partnerships with companies, of which many are international partners.
