Tweddle Child and Family Health Service is a statewide early intervention and prevention health service with a focus on the health and wellbeing of vulnerable families and children. Tweddle provides interventions to infants, children and their families to promote the restoration of health and wellbeing where distress and disruption is impacting the infant-parent relationship.
Tweddle's provides community resources and therapeutic support to families with children up to school age either in partnership with other organisations or directly in the community. Our highest priority is to provide assistance to families that are facing multiple challenges and are in urgent need of care.
These challenges are commonly underpinned by isolation, mental illness, family instability and health issues, including addiction.
Tweddle's services include:
Childbirth education
Residential parenting programs
Day Stay parenting programs
Group therapeutic support programs
Parenting assessment and skill development
Psychology support services
Parenting education in prisons
Support for parents of children with additional needs (MyTime)
Tweddle's expertise focuses on the first 1000 days of life and the impact of trauma on the development of babies and toddlers. Our goal is to hear and promote the voice of the child in all areas of our service and to provide excellent care to every family every time.
