Founded in 2011, the Tutor Trust is a charity that is passionate about making a difference to less advantaged young people in our communities. We aim to empower pupils to overcome barriers to their learning through supportive and inclusive small-group tuition.
The gold standard of evidence of impact is a Randomised Control Trial (RCT), and we are now unique in the UK education sector in having successful results from two RCTs!
We work with university students and graduates, as well as qualified teachers, across our four cities to deliver high-quality tuition and support for pupils.
Our dedicated team of qualified teachers provides bespoke training for new tutors, ensuring that people without prior experience in schools will feel ready to start working. The training is tailored for our separate subjects:
• Primary Reading & Maths
• Secondary English
• Secondary Maths
• Secondary Science
Beyond that, we host Continuous Professional Development (CPD) sessions and provide ongoing support for our tutors, enabling them to develop their skills whilst studying.
Last academic year (2021-22), our tutors delivered 34,800 hours of tuition to more than 6,700 pupils across the Greater Manchester, Leeds-Bradford, and Merseyside city regions. We’re continuing to grow, and need your help to transform more lives through tutoring than ever before!
