Incorporated in 1970, Trukai Industries Ltd is a subsidiary of Ricegrowers Ltd and is proudly one third owned by Papua New Guineans through Melanesian Trust Services Ltd - the trustee managers of the Pacific Balance Fund. The company employs more than 1,000 Papua New Guineans, and supports tens of thousands more through family networks and indirect employment across the rice industry supply chain. Trukai supports food security by providing millions of Papua New Guineans access to rice, utilizing it's extensive distribution network. In line with legislation, Trukai vitamin enriches and fortifies all its rice products in a granulated format so it doesn't lose efficacy in the cooking process. Trukai has a strong track record of supporting the local community, both socially and economically, with one of the most extensive corporate social responsibility programs in PNG, spanning sports, health facilities and health programs, and cultural and provincial events.
