R. Lynn Shipley Jr., a lifelong resident of the Tri-Cities and banker of more than three decades, felt the region needed a community bank dedicated to the consumers and small businesses of the Tri-Cities. So on February 26, 2007, he and seven business and community leaders from across the area opened the doors of newly formed TriSummit Bank to the community, with financial centers in Johnson City, Tenn., Kingsport, Tenn., and Bristol, Va.
In addition to Shipley, the bank’s organizers included John H. King, automobile dealer; Dr. Richard Manahan, ETSU executive; Mack Patton, M.D., retired urologist; Robert B. McNab Jr., real estate developer; Charles Montgomery, real estate investor; Doug Alley, automobile dealer; and Lois A. Clarke, United Company executive. The eight organizers also serve as directors along with Dr. Brenda White Wright, president and CEO of The Wright Approach.
Today, the bank continues to serve the Tri-Cities region with strong, customer- and community-focused leadership and four full-service, state-of-the-art financial centers.
