Founder & President Ned Einstein, with over a 40-year career in the passenger transportation field, is an expert witness, serving attorneys and insurance companies on more than 600 public transportation-related law suits. Apart from his work designing vehicles and working on 600+ lawsuits involving vehicles of practically every type, size, make and model, he has written vehicle specifications and is published in more than 200 nationally-published books, full-length papers and magazine articles published by organizations ranging from the U.S. Department of Transportation and National Academy of Science’s Transportation Research Board to major industry trade magazines.
Areas of specialty include: Accident analysis, investigation, testimony and mediation in vehicle and pedestrian accidents and incidents involving buses and other public transportation vehicles, including: transit, paratransit, school bus, special education, child transportation, motorcoach, charter & tour, non-emergency medical/ambulette, ambulance, taxi, Uber (etc.), limousine, shuttle and other services. Scenarios include: slips and falls, loading & unloading/boarding and alighting, vehicle-pedestrian collisions, crossing, vehicle-to-vehicle collisions, turning, wheelchair securement and tip-overs, seat belts and passenger securement, hiring & retention, driver training, passenger handling & assistance, stop selection, management, monitoring and supervision, evaluation, passenger molestation and assault, vehicle fires and explosions, driver and motorist fatigue, and catastrophic accidents. Particular expertise in standards of care (all public transportation modes) and compliance with USDOT and other regulations (e.g., ADA, FTA, FMCSA, NHTSA, IDEA, FERPA, HIPAA). Extensive familiarity with full range of vehicles, from two international bus design projects, preparation of vehicle specifications, and a decade directing the operations of my own 70-vehicle paratransit system (with five vehicle types).
