Founded in 1991, Transaction is the finance association of emlyon business school. In partnership with PwC, Moneta Asset Management and Dogfinance, we aim at promoting finance among emlyon students. We also provide support to students wishing to pursue a career in finance.
Each year, Transaction's mandate is invested in various areas of activity in order to fulfill these two missions:
• The Newsletter: every week, the team of editors publishes a newsletter containing articles analysing recent financial news: corporate news, major deals, and the latest information on the financial markets.
• Finance Talks: Transaction conducts interviews with financial professionals and alumni.
• Sharkweek: a 15-day trading competition. Each student - regardless of level - has the opportunity to hold a fictitious portfolio of shares in order to obtain maximum gains. Following these 15 days, a prize giving ceremony is organised to reward the participants with the best performances.
• Preparation for interviews: in order to best prepare students for the interviews, Transaction organises mock interviews.
• Numerical tests: another aspect of interview preparation is to train students in digital tests by providing them with real subjects and marking them together with advice on how to succeed.
• Visits in financial institutions: in order to get familiar with the financial world, the association organises company visits to banks, audit firms, M&A and private equity boutiques.
• Networking afterworks and conferences: Transaction uses its contacts in the financial world to organize informal meetings between professionals and students, with a view to networking and discovering the sector.
• Women In Finance: launched in 2020, Transaction's Women In Finance aims to promote the place of women in finance. This conference, followed by an afterwork networking session, raises students' awareness of the issue of gender equality in the financial sector.
