With nearly 30 instrumentalists and 100 singers, Tonbridge Philharmonic Society is an established and well-respected part of musical life in Kent under the Musical Directorship of Robin Morrish. We have been performing high-quality music in Tonbridge since it was formed in 1946.
The orchestra was formed in 1958 and we remain to this day one of the few societies comprising both chorus and orchestra. We present a regular programme of choral and orchestral concerts of a high standard, employing professional soloists. The Society has an extensive repertoire spanning a wide range of music, including most of the major choral and many less well-known works, orchestral pieces and commissions. We normally perform 3 choral concerts a season in Tonbridge School Chapel and 2 Orchestral concerts each season in St.Stephen’s Church Tonbridge.
