Tobin Counseling

Tobin Counseling does therapy differently. We are a diverse team trauma-informed & LGBTQIA+ competent therapists in Grand Rapids, MI. We serve individuals (ages 7+), families, and relationships. We advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights, are committed to internal and external anti-racist work, and are a safe space for those who have been oppressed by religious, governmental, and family institutions. We acknowledge that the field of therapy was created by and built around the experiences of straight, cisgender, white men. Many theoretical frameworks and treatment methodologies simply do not address or represent the unique temporality, development, and experiences of queer folx, trans folx, and BIPOC/POC. We are committed to acknowledging these realities, and to being advocates and creators of change. We are committed to continual growth, education, self-care, and advocacy. Therapy is for everyone.
