California State University, Fullerton's Titan Capital Management (TCM) is a hands-on investment management practicum in which teams of selected students act as security analysts and portfolio managers for a portion of the CSUF Philanthropic Foundation (CSUFPF). The purpose of the Titan Capital Management program is to provide students with the resources and guidance necessary to:
• Evaluate the value and suitability of stocks and bonds in an institutional investment setting
• Persuasively communicate both the qualitative and quantitative rationale for an investment decision
• Deliver satisfactory investment results to the client while taking appropriate risk
Titan Capital Management is designed as a ‘high impact practice’ giving students the opportunity to apply accounting, economics, statistics, investment theory, and valuation concepts presented in many of the core courses required for the business administration degree at Mihaylo College of Business and Economics. TCM students will develop and implement an investment strategy consistent with the investment policy statement adopted by the CSUF Philanthropic Foundation. Such strategies may include top-down economic analysis and/or bottom-up portfolio construction. Equity students will apply both ‘value’ and ‘growth’ investment styles as mandated by the CSUFPF investment policy.
