Thurton Ethical Investments (Thurton EI) specialises in identifying, investing in, and supporting, early stage ethical businesses. To date this has covered a number of businesses in green energy, one in education, one in disaster relief and one in Corporate Responsibility consultancy. Thurton offers a range of services focussed on getting cash into early stage companies. Typically this happens in a number of ways: 1. If you're already generating revenue, we will help you find ways of increasing sales, increasing the value of sales, and making sure you get that money in faster. 2. If you're pre-revenue you will have skills that other businesses value. We can help you identify, develop and sell them. It may not be exactly what you want to do, but if it helps fund you until you can afford to devote yourself 100% to chasing your dream, this can be invaluable. 3. If you're at the right stage, we can help you find investors - typically angels - but other sources too. 4. If you have the right product, we have a great deal of experience in bidding for, and winning, grant funds for things like R&D. How do we earn our keep? Well, if you have money, then not unreasonably, we expect to get paid for our efforts. However, if you don't, all is not lost. For the right businesses we are prepared to defer those fees, or be paid in shares or options. For many early start businesses this can be very attractive: we share in your success and don't simply take the money and walk away.
