Thunder Roads Ohio is owned and produced by Will and Julie Roeder. The Roeder’s have a long family history in the Biking Community.
The Roeder family’s passion for the sport of motorcycling goes back decades when George Roeder was one of the leading AMA Grand National racers during the 1960s. He won eight nationals during the 1960s and was a member of the Harley-Davidson factory racing team. In addition to being one of the top AMA dirt track racers, Roeder also piloted a Harley-Davidson streamliner to a land-speed record in 1965. George was inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 1999.
George’s three sons – Will, George, II and Jess followed in their father’s footsteps winning several national and regional championships in both dirt track and road racing. Will Roeder won the National championship in the 1984 Battle of the Twins Road Racing Series on his Harley-Davidson XR 1000.
The family owned and operated Roeder Harley-Davidson in Monroeville and Sandusky, Ohio for over 37 years. George Roeder, II continues the dealership’s tradition of excelling in performance work and today operates his performance and service shop out the of the original dealership building in Monroeville.
Motorcycling has been a way of life for both Will and Julie. You’ll be hearing about some of Will’s favorite rides out West and along Route 66 in Thunder Roads. Julie now rides a customized 2007 Fat Boy with her girl motorcycle gang the Road Sisters. The group was formed after Julie and three of her friends rode nearly 4,000 in two weeks on a trip to Nova Scotia in 2007.
