The Stable Foundation's vision is to "eradicate homeless conditions through compassionate and engaged community." Simply put, TSF believes that the solution to homelessness is housing. Based on the 'housing first' philosophy, TSF moves individuals and families into stable, permanent housing as quickly as possible, allowing them to move from 'survival mode' to focusing on the issues that contributed to their homelessness. TSF believes that this approach is essential to ending homelessness in our community.
Founded in 2008 by Steve Phillips and Paul Lazzari, The Stable Foundation began operating as an incubation project of Community Connection of Northeast Georgia. During this time, TSF focused on serving its clients and developing as an organization. This included developing its board of directors, creating policies and procedures, fundraising, and enlisting necessary personnel. TSF's current staff hold degrees in nonprofit administration and social work and bring years of experience in homeless services and nonprofit leadership. In early 2011, TSF was recognized as a nonprofit organization by the IRS and is now operating as an independent organization.
