We run Youth Clubs in local, community spaces across Wolverhampton to support the needs of our young people and their communities.
Our core values:
🤝Social Justice: we strive to ensure this underpins all of our work. We manage boundaries with a restorative approach - centring the people and relationships and then repairing that harm. This also reflects how we strive the understand intersectionality and privilege and therefore how we working to create a safe, empathetic team!
💚Collective Empowerment: We empower by making decisions as a collective - whether that is through youth voice, with our parents/carers or as a team. We are currently made up of over 180 young people and a team of 5 volunteers.
Our community is small and growing, allowing for meaningful, authentic and impactful relationships to be built across the community. This allows us to be attentive and flexible to individual needs furthering that collective empowerment!
🌎Sustainability: We reflect this value in building a strong, valued team supported by policies and structures which centre a community approach, focusing on individual wellbeing and support. We are committed to working hard to prevent professional fatigue and burnout to ensure our team want and are able to continue being a part of The Social Sanctuary Project!
We also prioritise sustainability in regard to climate action and justice to ensure we look after the climate for our young people and future generations!
