The STEAM Engine is a new nonprofit in Oklahoma City. We are in the process of raising funds to secure space, equipment, and resources for a Maker Innovation Lab and MakerMobile, so that we can offer interdisciplinary, educational, enrichment programs in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics for youth between the ages of 8 and 13 and their families. Through hands-on activities, skill-building courses, experiments, and maker challenges, we want to help students develop the skills they need to be successful in life and their careers.
The STEAM Engine is a 501(c)(3) organization registered in the state of Oklahoma.
We provide STEM and Arts (commonly combined as STEAM) educational enrichment opportunities for youth between the ages of 8 and 13 in the greater OKC metro area.
We partner with libraries, schools, community organizations, and STEM professionals to develop and offer hands-on learning experiences to help youth develop the 21st century skills that they need while encouraging them to pursue STEM education and careers.
We do this by EXPOSING them to a variety of STEM careers and professionals, ENGAGING them in real-world applications of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math that are infused with creativity through the arts; and EXTENDING their learning by building a STEM ecosystem of parents, caregivers, volunteers, and community partners that support them in their pursuit.
