The Ruby Ball was created out of an attempt to create a voice in the silence for the many individuals with sickle cell that are no longer living and for the millions of warriors still fighting through the pain.
Sickle cell disease is a hereditary illness characterized by sickle shaped blood cells that get stuck in blood vessels blocking the flow of blood and oxygen throughout the body causing severe and sometimes debilitating pain crisis. This lack of oxygen to certain part of the body can lead to organ failure, gastric issues, and in some cases death. Sickle cell does not only affect those living with it physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.
My goal is simply to use my gift of event planning to do my part in bringing awareness and funding where it is need most, by helping already established sickle cell charities raise awareness and funding by hosting unforgettable elegant galas. I seek to work with different charities across the world each year by partnering with them to host The Ruby Ball in their respective arenas.
This year's gala will be hosted along side The Sickle Cell Disease Association of America and their 46th annual Conference in Baltimore Maryland on October 13th in Baltimore Maryland. Ticket can be purchased on our website Therubyball.com.
