The Royal Society of Victoria is our State's science society. We are a membership based, non-government organisation, advocating for the importance of science, technology and innovation to building the skills for Victoria's future industries, governments, community leaders and research superstars.
We manage the Inspiring Australia program in Victoria, engaging communities seeking a more meaningful engagement with science in their immediate context.
We encourage, profile and celebrate the achievements of Victorian scientists through public lectures, awards and prizes supported by the donations and bequests to the RSV Science Foundation.
We publish a monthly magazine with news, features and opportunities for our State's science community titled Science Victoria, distributed digitally via our mailing list. Our peer-reviewed journal, The Proceedings of the Royal Society of Victoria, features papers written by some of Victoria's most significant scientists. Available online and open access with CSIRO Publishing, the Proceedings and its antecedents have been published continuously since the Society's foundation in 1854.
