The Riff Raff is a London-based writers' community that champions debut authors and supports aspiring writers.
We believe that by bridging the gap between authors who've just found success and those who dream of being published, writing a book becomes achievable for everyone. Debut authors can help build up and maintain the publishing community, and find a wider audience for their work. Aspiring writers can find inspiration, encouragement and tangible advice to get their book published. And because we know that book events can be daunting, we've made our monthly meet ups at the Effra Social in Brixton friendly and fun.
In 2017, we launchd The Riff Raff Podcast to go deep with debut authors about how and why they wrote their debut novels. Featuring author interviews with the likes of Adam Kay (This Is Going To Hurt), Gabriel Tallent (My Absolute Darling) and Tara Westover (Educated), this is essential listening for anyone who wants practical tips and a shot of enthusiasm to help them write their book.
