Build your publishing skills with the Publishing Training Centre, a network of training professionals who deliver high-quality virtual and self-study courses for the publishing industry and wider business world.
From virtual courses, delivered in half-day sessions via Zoom, to self-study tutor-guided courses and e-learning modules, we cover the whole range of publishing – and other – disciplines, including digital, editorial, marketing, project management, people management and rights.
PTC courses provide specific learning outcomes designed to make an immediate, positive difference back at the office. All our tutors are practitioners in their field and up-to-date with latest industry developments. They bring their real-world experience to the courses they teach, enriching the student experience.
We are the only not-for-profit organisation solely focused on delivering training courses for the publishing industry.
The charitable foundation established that the core objective of the PTC was to provide cost-effective and high-quality training for publishers in the UK and overseas.
PTC's work is overseen by a dedicated Board of Trustees, who have a broad range of experience and expertise in the publishing industry.
Initially the training division of the Publishers Association, the PTC became independent in 1976 under the auspices of The Unwin Trust. It originally traded as Book House Training Centre before becoming The Publishing Training Centre Foundation in the 1990s.
