The Pound Arts Trust Limited, a charity registered by guarantee, is responsible for running The Pound, the arts hub for north Wiltshire based in Corsham; Corsham Festivals; and Rural Arts Touring, the rural touring scheme for Wiltshire and South Gloucestershire. The Trust is governed by a board of 11 volunteer trustees and run by a small staff team. It is core funded by Wiltshire Council and South Gloucestershire Council and is an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation.
The Pound is a popular arts venue based in Corsham and attracting more than 60,000 visitors each year. It offers an all year round programme of live performance, film, exhibitions and workshops. Open six days a week, the arts centre's facilities include a 100 seat auditorium, a 50-seat studio space, a cafe bar, studio spaces for three emerging artists and a community education room. In addition to its professional programme, the arts centre is home to community arts groups.
Corsham Festivals comprises three weekends festivals: a film festival in March, a community festival in June and a contemporary arts festival in October.
Rural Arts Touring is the rural touring scheme for Wiltshire and South Gloucestershire and is one of 40 rural touring schemes in England & Wales. Pound Arts works in partnership with volunteer promoters in up to 60 villages across the two unitary authority areas to stage around 100 professional performances and 20 participatory arts events every year.
