The Parakeet is a child-centered organisation dedicated to creating positive, joyful, healthy, and creative childhood experiences. Our research-informed approach places equal emphasis on play, nature connection, art, and social justice. Through collaborations with artists, volunteer groups, libraries, schools, and food banks, we co-create projects that prioritise the well-being and development of children. At The Parakeet, we celebrate children as artists, engineers, and makers, and our responsibility is to meet them where they are, providing safe and brave spaces that cater to their individual needs. Our focus on inclusivity by design reflects our belief that every child has the right to creative opportunities, regardless of any potential barriers. We strive to make this belief a reality through our programmes and initiatives.
