The Link’s mission is dedicated to connecting past, present and future students within Wilfrid Laurier University’s School of Business and Economics, the community and internationally by promoting leadership and networking opportunities in a professional manner. The Link strives to create an environment where students can grow on an academic, professional and personal level.
Since its establishment in April 2002, The Link has provided Wilfrid Laurier Business & Economics students the chance to connect and network with future students, past students, and university faculty. Our first event was The Leadership in Business Conference, which allowed university students to teach high school students business skills in a friendly yet competitive environment. The Link began to expand its portfolio in 2008 with the introduction of Steer Your Career, a formal wine and cheese networking event. Also in 2008, The Link, in cooperation with Laurier International and the School of Business & Economics, introduced the International Student Leadership Conference in China. Chinese students were able to learn hands-on business skills through the guidance of Link executives, while our executives experienced business on a global scale. In 2010, The Link introduced the Professional Development Conference, a day of workshops, training programs, and guest speakers to help delegates learn and grow outside the classroom. Today, The Link has grown into a diverse and unique business organization. The Link executive team consists of creative, energetic and innovative individuals who strive to be a positive influence in their school and communities.
As The Link continues to grow, it has developed into a prominent organization within the School of Business and Economics and continues to develop and educate the leaders of tomorrow.
