The Israeli Academy of Film and Television is a non-profit organization working in the fields of film and television in Israel. It is the Israeli equivalent of the US-based Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. It was founded in 1990 and as of 2012 has 750 members. The organization's board includes representatives of content creators, the film and television industry, representatives of local authorities and public figures. Each year the academy awards the Israeli Film Academy Awards (Ophir Award) for outstanding Israeli films and the Israeli Television Academy Awards for outstanding Israeli television productions.
