The Israel Movement for Progressive Judaism (IMPJ) is Israel’s Reform Jewish movement,
The Movement offers a framework for Israelis who seek a liberal, religious community life based on Jewish heritage, but open to serious exploration of the meaning of tradition in contemporary life. The IMPJ includes 45 congregations, schools, kindergartens, cultural centers, and Batei Midrash - from Nahariya in the north to Kibbutz Lotan in the south.
The IMPJ strives to integrate progressive manifestations of Jewish faith and culture into mainstream Israeli society. We hope to affect the lives of Israelis in search of a moderate and liberal Judaism at key points in their lives (Bar/Bat Mitzvah, marriage, etc.). We encourage interested Israelis to deepen their acquaintance with Progressive Judaism through study and experience. We address Israeli society with numerous outreach programs with the hope that they will adopt these values and practices and express them through ongoing involvement in communities of like-minded Israelis.
