The Heat Is Power Association

The Heat is Power Association (HiP) is the trade association for the waste heat to power (WHP) industry. WHP uses waste heat from industrial processes to generate electricity with no additional fuel, no combustion, and no incremental emissions. WHP receives a 30% federal Investment tax credit for Waste Energy Recovery Property. It recognizes WHP to be a clean energy technology now on parity under the tax code with other forms of zero emission energy resources. Heat is Power remains hard at work educating Congressional and State leaders on the role emission free, baseload WHP technologies can play in legislation and policies designed to reduce carbon emissions from the American industrial and commercial sectors.
