The Collaborative is a Los Angeles based non-profit educational institution dedicated to promoting mutual artistic growth by providing opportunities for our 100 members in education, production and communal creative engagement.
It is the story of 100 actors who came together and asked bold questions: What if we stopped pursuing our careers in isolation and competition? What if we all worked to help, teach, support and create together?
The Collaborative created a community for actors not only to call home, but to use as a safe space to take control of their careers, to learn, to experiment, and to give each other the tools to lead all of us to bold artistic futures. It is a home base for actors who are taking control back: owning their voices, their stories and their careers, with the support of 99 other like-minded members.
The Collaborative is rooted in the idea that in a constantly changing industry, continued education is key to a sustainable artistic life. Our craft, like that of a dancer or a musician, requires constant improvement, practice, and refinement to adapt to the changes in the business itself. To that end, a Collaborative membership provides resources and educational opportunities built on our founding principles of community, education, networking & production.
