The Center for Prolonged Grief at Columbia University School of Social Work is dedicated to helping people with complicated grief find effective resources to reclaim their lives. The Center under the leadership of Dr. M. Katherine Shear, M.D., is built upon a strong foundation of clinical research having grown out of the oldest complicated grief treatment research program in the world.
We are committed to training mental health professionals around the world to administer prolonged grief treatment (PGT), the time-limited, targeted psychotherapy that has been tested and proven efficacious in three NIMH-funded randomized controlled trials. If you are a professional interested in learning more about PGT join our network for updates on training opportunities.
