The 2 Minute Foundation

The 2 Minute Foundation is a national charity that encourages everyone to clean up our planet, 2 minutes as a time so that nature can thrive. We started at the ocean, and we are here to promote ocean health because: * all waterways lead to the ocean * it gives us every second breath we take * it is the biggest carbon capturer on the planet We carry out our work through online and tangible TOOLS and online and in-person ENCOURAGEMENT that follow our 3 main objectives: Pick up / Connect Communities / Pass it on. PICK UP We started the organisation by encouraging people to pick up litter. We believe that this is the gateway to a plastic aware lifestyle. CONNECT COMMUNITIES Our stations are placed within communities. They are a tool kit and they act as litter picking meeting places for organised beach cleans and their presence and messaging act as a deterrent to littering. By being part of our social media community through our ‘Pick up’ campaigns, off line communities meet and connect through the activity of picking up and using the stations. PASS IT ON We ‘pass it on’ each day through our on and off line offerings. Through sharing a hashtag, an individual has passed on the simple act of picking up litter which in turn encourages other to do the same. This then leads to connecting the community and normalising the act of picking up.
