Texas Electric Cooperatives, Inc. is the statewide association that represents electric cooperatives in Texas. TEC advocates for its members’ interests before the Texas Legislature, United States Congress, and various regulatory agencies.
TEC publishes the award-winning Texas Co-op Power, a monthly magazine with a circulation of 1.8 million. The magazine is part of a multi-faceted communications platform designed to enhance the quality of life of cooperative member-consumers across the state. TEC also provides 800 critical safety briefings and 50 technical schools to more than 3,000 utility workers each year and produces a dozen annual conferences as well as professional development trainings for electric cooperative employees.
TEC's Utility Supply & Services provides the necessary support for utility infrastructure from its state-of-the-art 160,000 square-foot headquarters facility in Georgetown, Texas. In addition to the Georgetown campus, TEC works collaboratively with 26 co-ops across Texas to manage warehouses and assist with the supply chain for essential industry-related equipment such as electric meters, utility poles, transformers and wire. TEC has annual revenues approaching $300 million and employs over 250 dedicated men and women across Texas.
