The TechnologieZentrumDortmund (TZDO) is one of the leading technology and start-up centers in Europe. TZDO is a renowned address for technology-oriented companies, start-ups and entrepreneurs with a history of development of over 35 years and is one of the largest technology incubators in Germany. More than 300 companies with round about 13,500 employees are located at the Science and Technology Campus Dortmund. These companies transform their research and development ideas into marketable products - often in cooperation with neighbouring science. The TZDO acts as a magnet and hub for future-oriented technologies. The variety focuses range from information technology and logistics to biomedicine, micro and nano technology and production technology. Started in 1985 as one of the accelerators of structural change in the region, today the TZDO, with a rentable area of more than 100,000 square meters and over 200 companies in various competence centres with industry-specific orientation, is a pioneering engine in the rapid change in technological innovations.
