Teatret Gruppe 38

Teatret Gruppe 38 is a professional, awarded theatre, which has existed since 1972. The theatre is located in the city of Aarhus, Denmark, and led by the artistic leader, writer and actor Bodil Alling. We create reflective, whimsical and philosophic theatre, presented in an intimate format. Teatret Gruppe 38 has an extensive tour-programme – in Denmark and abroad. Amongst other countries, we have lately been visiting Australia, Croatia, Norway, Canada, USA, Germany, Estonia, Scotland and Japan. In 2019, Teatret Gruppe 38 moves from the charming, old Latinerkvarteret in Aarhus C, into a new building to the new developed, exciting city district Aarhus Ø (Oe) at the old industrial harbor area of the city. As a theatre frequently performing in English on foreign tours, we want to give non-Danish speaking audiences in and around Aarhus the opportunity to experience professional theatre – and an important part of Danish culture – in an understandable language. Full of Good Stories We strive to create and present enriching, immersive and challenging artistic experiences. We seek the complexity of the simple to create unpredictable, thought-provoking experiences that sharpen imagination - and experiences the audience can recognize themselves and their surroundings through. Theatre for everyone Some of the performances we present are only suitable for adults – most of them appeal equally to adults and children.
