Tapestry Day Club is a not-for-profit enterprise offering stimulating day care in small groups for people living in social isolation and with early-stage dementia in family homes across Surrey and West Sussex, while providing respite for their carers.
Our carefully vetted and fully trained hosts welcome guests into their own family home, providing transport, refreshments, a two-course, home-cooked lunch and optional, mind-boosting activities within small groups of up to six guests.
Founded by Anderley Wade and Clare Jones in 2019, the club celebrated exceeding its target in 2023 of providing 10,000 hours of respite care in two years since relaunching post Covid – by more than 3,000 hours.
Each time a guest attends a Tapestry Day Club, a carer will have a break of up to six hours. It has supported more than 100 families since launching.
Louise, daughter of a guest, said: "Tapestry has been a godsend for us. Mum loves it and can't wait to go off with her host. She comes home so happy, and anything that has been bothering her seems to disappear."
Tapestry Day Club is the trading name of Tapestry Lunch Club Community Interest Company (CIC), registered in England and Wales number 12110992.
