The Town of Eagle is a home rule community that is the county seat of Eagle County, Colorado. The population was 6,940 as of 2018, up from 3,032 at the 2000 census.
The Town is recognized for its extensive, 100+ mile trail system for mountain biking, hiking and trail running. Located just 30 miles (48 km) west of the resorts of Vail and Beaver Creek, residents enjoy an abundance of year-round recreational opportunities.
Eagle is located roughly halfway between Denver and Grand Junction, Colorado, along Interstate 70. The Town is 7 miles from the Eagle County Airport, with nonstop flights to L.A., San Francisco, Dallas, Chicago, New York, Atlanta, and Denver.
