TONTOTON is a plastic credits program that offers a sustainable and environmentally friendly solution to reduce plastic pollution in land and water. Next to every recyclable plastic bottle, there is a plastic bag, food packaging, a shoe, and other non-recyclable plastics that no one collects. It’s our duty and responsibility to create solutions to all plastic waste. TONTOTON’s community-based solution supports vulnerable coastal communities by creating jobs and better living conditions through their engagement in daily cleanup activities. Companies that participate in and support TONTOTON’s plastic credits program help to close the loop on plastic pollution, under the understanding that if we do not do it, nobody will! In February 2022, TONTOTON launched the ‘Plastic-free coastlines’ movement that connects coastal communities, the general public, NGOs, international organizations, government agencies, and companies to one goal of an environment free from plastic pollution. The movement combines community daily cleanup in polluted coastal areas with an awareness campaign in schools for children, parents, and teachers. It’s our responsibility to act now. Join us!
