CyCamp is the first Cyber Security club hosted at The Knowledge Hub Universities. It was started by a group of Year 2 (Level 5) and Year 3 (Level 6) Ethical Hacking and Cyber Security students who had the inspiration to think about how they might spread the knowledge about their major that would aid the community in a positive way and in creating awareness about it. The club is aimed at cybersecurity enthusiasts and individuals with a creative mindset to uncover and exploit hidden areas in technology and cyberspace.
From having meetings with Student Life and the School of Computing to visiting professionals working in the business and talking with them about how those ideas could impact and assist the community, we began to turn those ideas into something practical beginning in March 2020. CyCamp was finally born after several months of arduous work and meetings. Our goal is to protect the TKH community from cybercrime by educating and preparing them to use the internet safely, and we want our members to represent TKH in national and worldwide cybersecurity competitions. At CyCamp, we are confident that we can have a significant impact on how widely cyber awareness is spread on campus and establish a solid reputation for our cybersecurity training programs.
CyCamp has four main missions:
• Raising cyber security awareness in the TKH Community, whether through campaigns or hosting guest speakers.
• Arranging workshops and training for students to participate in national and international competitions.
• Teaching and helping students in gaining technical skills.
• Aiding students in their cyber security career advising through building connections and meeting professional people in the industry.
