Our organization began in 2009 with 6 community builders who saw the new TEDx program as a fantastic opportunity to break down silos and build key relationships within the San Antonio innovation, business, nonprofit, and education communities.
We’ve been learning and growing ever since.
Get involved with us in these four ways:
ATTEND. Request an invitation to one of our events, watch the livestream, or watch recorded talks.
SPEAK. We invite speaking proposals from the public on several of our events - see the website for more detail.
SPONSOR. We invite organizations to work with us to spread ideas.
VOLUNTEER. If you're passionate about TED and ideas - please consider joining our all-volunteer team.
WHAT IS TED?
TED is a worldwide community and series of conferences to discuss and share "Ideas Worth Spreading." Originally conceived in 1984 as a way for people from different disciplines to compare and discuss ideas across Technology, Entertainment and Design domains, the format of presenting ideas through short informal talks, captured and shared free on video, has proven successful and sustainable.
WHAT IS TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED created a program called TEDx.
TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience; x=independently organized TED event. At our TEDxSanAntonio event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but all TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
