T. R. Hamzah & Yeang Sdn. Bhd. is an international architecture and planning firm with its HQ in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The firm has been in existence since 1976. The Principals are Tengku Robert Hamzah and Dato¹ Dr. Ken Yeang. The firm¹s sister company in the UK is Llewelyn Davies Yeang (London).
T. R. Hamzah & Yeang is best known for designing signature, deep green and innovative buildings and master plans. For over 30 years it has pioneered designs for passive low-energy tall buildings, known as ‘bioclimatic skyscrapers’. The firm¹s sustainable design initiatives go beyond GreenMark, GBI, LEED and BREAM accreditations, towards the ultimate ecological objective of integrating designed systems seamlessly and benignly within the natural environment. Hamzah & Yeang has received numerous awards worldwide including the Prinz Claus Award (Netherlands), the Aga Khan Awards for Architecture (Geneva), the Royal Australian Institute of Architects International Award (in 1997 and 1999), the Singapore Institute of Architects & NParks Skyrise Greenery Award (2009), and others. The firm¹s projects have been published intensively in the international press.
T. R. Hamzah & Yeang is a long serving member of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (USA). The firm practices strict cost planning in delivering projects within clients¹ budget, with rigorous emphasis on project management and delivery control. Built works include the multi-storey National Library of Singapore, Solaris at one-north (under-construction) and several buildings for the IBM franchise, Mesiniaga. The firm currently has on-going projects in Singapore, USA, Europe and Asia.
