The relationship with Coca-Cola began in 1965 with the acquisition by Swire of the majority shareholding in a Coca-Cola franchise in Hong Kong, a business known today as Swire Coca-Cola HK Ltd. Swire Pacific acquired the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Salt Lake City in 1978. Swire Coca-Cola employs over 37,000 people and generates annual revenues of HK$ 53.9 billion.
